Nitro Games is looking for a QA MANAGER to join the merry team in Kotka or Helsinki, Finland. We are offering a chance to be on the front lines of mobile game development and to join an established studio with over 14 years of experience in strategy & shooter games.


In this position, you will get to be part of a transformation to move towards continuous testing during development and building a full-scale automated quality assurance.


Role

There are two different skill sets that fit this role


Manual testing background

Experienced in hands-on manual testing and deep experience in organizing and improving testing efforts at team and/or company level. Willingness to learn test automation with the help of tech leadership.


Automation testing background

Experienced in hands-on automated testing and programming skills to build tools for it and some experience in organizing testing efforts on a team and/or company level. Willingness to learn more about organizing and improving testing efforts with the help of tech leadership.

We expect you to be well versed in both hands-on testing, regardless of if it’s manual or automated and organizing test activities in a project. Because our long-term vision is to minimize the need for manual testing, you should be able to scale your and others' work so that developers learn how they can test their own work independently. If you are from a manual testing background, we expect you to be interested in learning automating your own and other's work.

 

You will be responsible for training, organizing and improving our testing capabilities, so we expect you to be good with people and working in cross-functional teams. You’ll have the help of our technology leaders and game teams in defining what quality means, improving it, reducing bugs and taking preventive measures towards quality issues. You are not only training how to do testing but also teaching why testing is important and helping us to show its value to all stakeholders.


You’ll work closely with programmers, helping them to understand what to test and how to document it while they are writing new features or refactoring existing ones. You will also communicate with external manual testers and facilitate frictionless communication between them and our programmers and the project management. You will discuss and plan our testing needs and resourcing with programmers and project management according to our common quality standards, project scope and budget.
