Lead Artist on Unannounced Project
Nitro Games is looking for a Lead Artist to join our awesome team on an unannounced project in Kotka or Helsinki, Finland, or remotely. We offer you the chance to be on the frontlines of pushing the artistic and narrative potential of mobile games, and to join our established, NASDAQ First North listed studio which celebrated 15 years in 2022. As the Lead Artist on this project, you will be tasked to uphold and lead the art vision, quality, and creation of new art assets on a semi-realistic unannounced mobile title. You will work with both our internal and external art teams, as well as in close collaboration with the project leadership, to support our artists, and also contribute to the art direction of the project. This role requires a Lead who has a good understanding of all art roles within game creation in order to provide everything that is needed for the team, however, it is not essential that you excel in them all.You will be coached throughout this role, in order to ensure you achieve your goals and grow into the position over time.
To do well in this position, you will need:
- 3+ years of professional experience as an artist in the game industry
- 1+ year of experience in an art leadership position
- Good knowledge of a variety 3D workflows
- Ability to create briefs, and lead both internal and external artists to create mobile-ready assets
- Ability to communicate with all disciplines
- Good understanding of mobile-ready pipelines and technical limitations
- Good understanding of building content treadmills
- Ability to critique and guide artists based on pre-existing art vision, to ensure consistency within a project
- Strong understanding of Unity
- Ability to adapt to multiple art styles
We also value:
- Ability to work on-site at our studio in either Kotka or Helsinki – however, this is not a must
- Understanding of Animation and animation pipelines
- Understanding of UI workflows within Unity
- Understanding of Lighting within Unity
- Understanding of VFX / Technical Art within Unity (ShaderGraph or similar)
